In a nutshell:

Mediation is a structured and voluntary process for resolving the disputes and conflicts found in most divorces.  with the assistance of a neutral third party -- the mediator. The goal of mediation is to help the divorcing spouses reach a mutually acceptable agreement.  Here is an overview of the mediation process: 

 

Mediation is informal -- there are no tricky rules about "discovery" and "admission of evidence."

Mediation is much, much faster than a litigated divorce;

Mediation keeps you in control of your life and future -- mediation empowers you to find your own solutions without the imposition o+f court-ordered
